Our Lists

This is the second year that we have done a Fun List and a Goal List to put on our fridge. It is one of my FAVORITE parts of summer. On the first day of summer, as a family we brainstorm what fun things we want to do during the summer. We usually pick about 10-12 things.


Then we brainstorm what goals we want to accomplish. This year we each picked two things. Since our youngest is a little young to understand goals, I picked for her! I'm sure she would have picked "no whining" as a goal for herself if she could have :) Each person picks a font so that everybody has a unique font.



Last year we did EVERYTHING on our fun list, and accomplished almost all of our goals!! It was so fun to have a daily reminder of the things we wanted to do and accomplish. Each box is 13" x 13". I am offering the FUN LIST or GOAL LIST at half of the normal price because I love it so much I want others to try it! Choose either one for $6 or $12 for both.

The Girl's Room

Our girls are now sharing a room, which meant new furniture, new paint, and new vinyl! I added their names with a little butterfly off to the side. Their room is light purple, so I cut it out in dark purple.

I also cut out a chandelier to hang over their mirror. Chandeliers are the IN thing right now.

Families Can Be Together Forever

Something that is really popular to do right now, is to put words or a quote behind a picture on the wall. Deseret Book had temple pictures 55% off last November, so we bought a picture of the Sacramento temple for a great deal, and couldn't wait to hang it up.

We used the words of one of my favorite hymns as a backdrop. My first spiritual experience that I can remember was while we were singing the hymn Families Can Be Together Forever for a Primary Program during Sacrament Meeting. I think I was about 6, and while I was singing the song, tears were rolling down my face because I loved my family so much and Heavenly Father said I could live with them forever! I still can't sing the song without getting choked up or teary eyed.

I designed the words so that it would be a perfect square ( or as close as possible), and would have an equal amount of words showing on all sides. This was A LOT of vinyl! The finished size of vinyl is 44" x 44". Pricing for this or similar would be about $50.

Back At It

It was so nice to have the holiday break, free from school, routines, and probably most of all; vinyl :) But it's nice to be back too. I was surprised at the number of orders awaiting my return home - makes me feel loved :). So, I'm back at it, with a big start for the New Year.


Amidst the special orders, I have a few ideas for new vinyl around my house that I've been working on. We hung the guitars with hooks from Lowe's that are meant for shovels, and then added a little vinyl. I absolutely love it. Not only does it make me feel organized, but it makes me smile everytime I see it. I'm working on being more organized this year, with everything having it's own place.

Baby's Room

I added a little vinyl to Belly's room.

I'm really loving the three block designs - they're so fun.

Work Space

I am so very lucky to have a nice, large sized work area for all of my crafting purposes, but keeping it organized can be very challenging. In an attempt to organize, I made (with hubby's help) this magnet board which was so very easy.

Step 1: drill a large piece of sheet metal to the wall (make sure you drill into studs) Step 2: cut your wood ( I used 1 x 4) to desired lengths to frame the sheet metal.

Step 3: paint wood.

Step 4 : nail wood to wall.

That's it! I can now keep all of my receipts, notes, in one place, and write myself notes with a dry erase marker. I also put a little vinyl above it, which I think turned out fabulously, in my humble opinion ;)

Decorating the Bathroom

In our master bathroom we have a tiny room where the toliet is. It feels like a small dungeon..... I don't love the floor design. In an attempt to "beautify" the small room (hehe), I spray painted a shelf black, and added some black vinyl - a 3 square leaf design. I really like how it turned out.

Welcome Sign

In our house, one of the things that I get comments on the most is the Welcome sign I have on the wall. With it being in the front room, it is easily visible when you walk in the front door. It is a simple and inexpensive way to make your home feel more inviting and welcoming.

Light Switch Decoration

Are your light switches boring? Add some vinyl directly to the plate or just above them!

I have even seen some people put "Did you think to pray" on the plates in their kid's rooms - what a great reminder!

Bathroom Quote

A few years ago, I was looking for something that I would see everyday to remind me that I can do it, and to keep moving forward. So, I ended up putting a quote up in my bathroom that I would see every morning and evening before bed. It helped me to remember to enjoy the simple things. I love seeing it everyday, it's a nice reminder.

Little Dude's Room

I asked Little Dude what he wanted in his room. His choices were anything from cars, dinosaurs, Spiderman, etc. He chose Pirates ( which surprised me).

I'm thinking I need maybe a pirate ship or a compass on the walls too, but this is what I have so far.

Missy's Room

I am really happy how Missy's room turned out. I went with hot pink, light pink, and chocolate for colors. I painted the walls hot pink to match her bedspread.

I put a quote I liked for the main focus.

Then I put pink, white, and brown flowers and polka dots all over the room.

Simple and cute!
